Why “SCAR”?
In construction, a scar on a high-rise is the final stage of work - a visible detail that completes the building and signals it’s ready to stand on its own. The idea of arriving at the end of a long process, adding the touch that makes it whole, and leaving a lasting impression.
We’re a group of young women who came together to start our own practice, united by the belief that the industry can be reshaped with fresh thinking, bold design, and genuine collaboration.

Bella is one of the Founding Directors of SCAR and a soon-to-be architect. She holds a Bachelor of Design and a Master’s Degree in Architecture from the University of Melbourne. Having worked with major clients in New York, including Google, Bella brings a love for combining branding with architecture, drawing inspiration from styles ranging from brutalism to postmodernism. Her experience spans civic architecture, multi-residential developments, commercial buildings, and graphic design projects, giving her a broad and versatile design perspective.
Bella Argyrou Co-Founder
Katia is one of the Founding Directors of SCAR and a soon-to-be architect. She holds a Bachelor of Design and a Master’s Degree in Architecture from the University of Melbourne. With her European and Italian background, Katia draws inspiration from the rich history and intricate details that give architecture its timeless character. Her experience across multi-residential developments and commercial buildings shapes her approach, bringing thoughtful, meticulous, and future-focused design to every project.
Katia Romanic Co-Founder
Angelica is one of the Founding Directors of SCAR. She holds a Bachelor of Communications (Advertising) and in Interior Design and Decoration from RMIT University. Inspired by film and set design, Angelica approaches every project like a carefully framed scene, layering colour, texture, and detail to create interiors that feel alive and immersive. She has even worked as a TV extra on Netflix productions, further fueling her passion for storytelling. Her experience spans healthcare, hospital environments, and residential projects, where she brings authenticity and atmosphere to every space.
